For all the scraped knees and runny noses.
For all the late nights working on the school project that is due tomorrow. For all the weekend mornings a big breakfast was on the table. For every prayer said over one of us. Through every tear - joyous or sorrowful. For being there especially when no one else was. For all y’all have done, both seen and unseen. THANKS A happiest of Mother’s Days from ABG.

We'd like to announce a new feature on the website. It's been active a few days but we're just now making the official announcement. The ABG Mercantile is now online and is offering a few goods that we've curated with more to come. Currently we are offering unique vintage goods but some may eventually vary. At present and except where otherwise noted, all prices include shipping. As this endeavor progresses, we may add some different items and will hopefully have some ABG merchandise as well. We'd appreciate your patronage and love any feedback! Sam Burnham, Curator @C_SamBurnham The U.S. Small Business Administration has designated this week, April 29- May 5 to be "Small Business Week." It is a campaign to focus attention on the myriad of diverse businesses that make up a formidable economic engine when looked at as a whole. We like to think of every week as Small Business Week. These are the businesses that really fuel our economy. Small businesses are how the real American Dream can be achieved. A family farm, the corner hardware store, that quirky restaurant downtown, an independent auto mechanic, that stylish fashion boutique, a locally-owned bank, and (hopefully soon) this crazy fledgling media empire, are all examples of small businesses. If you look around your town, you'll see their big box counterparts. But you're also going to notice these small businesses - the ones your neighbors operate. If your town has a healthy economy, it is likely that you have more small businesses than you do big box ones. But we don't just focus on these businesses because we hate the big boxes. We love small towns and small businesses but more than that, we believe in them. It is a philosophy that we espouse at ABG and we hope that you see that philosophy from what we share here. A large company can produce a lot of jobs but a small business is going to create careers. While the career creation might be smaller if you compare business to business, the vast number of small businesses enables them to provide more opportunities for more people simply by overall volume. It is a matter of numbers. A young lady who starts a successful fashion boutique can make more money than she will working as a cashier in a department store. And the money isn't the best part. She will be working in a dream. She'll be bringing a passion to life. She won't just be an employee. She'll be a part of this business and it will be part of her. But mostly, I'm asking that you consider these businesses. And don't limit your support of them to this week. As the week draws to a close tomorrow, keep on supporting these businesses next week and the next. Help them build that strong local economy.
